“Becoming a Healthy Team: 10 Traits of a Healthy Disciple”

1. The healthy disciple experiences God’s empowering presence.

But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit—the Father will send Him in My name—will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you. John 14:26

2. The healthy disciple experiences God worship.

But an hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. Yes, the Father wants such people to worship Him. John 4:23

3. The healthy disciple practices the spiritual disciplines, including prayer, Bible study, and reflection, daily quiet time and solitude.

Remain in Me, and I in you. Just as a branch is unable to produce fruit by itself unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me. John 15:4

4. The healthy disciple learns and grows as part of a church body.

So that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God. Col. 4:10

5. The healthy disciple commits to loving and caring relationships.

This is My command: Love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends. John 15:12-13

6. The healthy disciple serves in a Christ-like manner.

For I have given you an example that you also should do just as I have done for you. John_13:15

7. The healthy disciple shares the love of Christ generously.

"For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

8. The healthy disciple is wise and disciplined.

For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love, and sound judgment. 1 Timothy 2:7

9. The healthy disciple works well with other Christians, inside and outside of their own church or denomination.

I am in them and You are in Me. May they be made completely one, so the world may know You have sent Me and have loved them as You have loved Me. John 17:23

10. The healthy disciple shares their blessings.

Do nothing out of rivalry or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves. Everyone should look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Philippians 2:3-4
