All the Poor and Powerless
Have you ever cried out? No, I mean really cried out, in complete desparation, end-of-the-rope kind of stuff. Many don't, at least out loud! But, internally, well, that may be another story altogether.
"Do you not know? Have you not heard? Yahweh is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth. He never grows faint or weary; there is no limit to His understanding. He gives strength to the weary and strengthens the powerless. Youths may faint and grow weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:28-31
If we believe that God inhabits the praise of His people, why don't we include in our cry for help, a crying out of praise, pouring on Him a love and desire for closeness. It may just be that out of that cry, we get a response to the other, which we know and understand that He hears, whether we speak it or not. It just may be that He sends His Holy Spirit to walk along side us in that journey.
...hope that is seen is not hope, because who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with patience. In the same way the Spirit also joins to help in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with unspoken groanings. And He who searches the hearts knows the Spirit's mind-set, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:24b-28
